Introduction |
Schools are back in session. The leaves are starting to change. But the best part of Autumn is the 'National - Football - League'. There are many ways to add excitement to the NFL experience. Square pools are popular and similar to the lottery where you write your name in a square, some random cards are drawn to determine your number combination and if your lucky the score at the end of each quarter matches your combination. Some office pools have you simply pick the winners. Since everyone will pick and get right the Patriots over the Cardinals in Foxboro, it makes everyone feel good inside. Real prognosticators, however, like a challenge and to control their own destiny. They like to believe they understand and know the game better than the average Joe and that they own the Vegas Sports Books. To this end, the "I Know the NFL Challenge" was born. It's actual quite simple! Just know football better than your peers and you control your own fortune. But beware, the challenge is not for the weak and has been known to send the most confident of men into deep depression. | ||
The Game & Spreads |
Each week on Wednesday, the current "lines" will be posted for every game in the NFL. Example, Detroit@Green Bay might be listed as Green Bay -6.5. This indicates that if you select Green Bay to "cover" the spread, Green Bay must win the game by at least 7 points to get credit for the win. If you take Detroit, they could win outright or even lose by up to 6 points in order to get the win. You select the winners, against the spread, for every game each week in the NFL. In addition to picking each game, you must also select 4 "lock picks". Lock picks are the games you are the most confident about. You assign a selection you are most confident about to the 4-point lock, your next best matchup to the 3-point lock and so on. Ten (10) lock points per week ar are available. Lock points serve as the tiebreaker each week and the those with the most lock points at year's end will be paid cash bonuses.

Entry Fees & Prize Money |
The entry fee is $103 for the entire season. Administrative and server fees will be deducted from the cash pool. Weekly and end of year prize money is based on the number of paid entrants and will be determined and published shortly after the start of the season. Prize money will be paid at year's end, within one week of the end of the Super Bowl. Roughly 75% of the total prize money is distributed for weekly winners. The remaining 25% make up the end of the year distributions for the top performers in overall and lock picking. |
